Asma Afreen and Bonny Norton recently published an article in the Globe and Mail on online heritage language learning and teaching during the pandemic.
The ongoing pandemic has resulted in widespread interest in heritage language learning. Asma Afreen and Bonny Norton recently reported on the Vancouver Bangla School, which has been offering free Bangla lessons to Canadian Bengali children since 2018. The community-based language school recently transitioned to online learning and the results are informative. They are now reaching a wider Bengali community and “enriching communication in families and communities”.
