Dahlia’s current research concerns literacy acquisition and reading performance, particularly among boys. Her doctoral research focuses on the impact of preschool behavioural regulation on literacy acquisition and reading outcomes and seeks to investigate how improving this skill within a literacy learning context may contribute to better reading outcomes among boys and struggling readers in general. Dahlia also has a keen interest in cross-cultural awareness and competence in health sciences and increasing the participation of persons from underrepresented backgrounds in healthcare programs.
