Deanne Wah (they/them)
PhD Student, Language, Reading and Cognitive Neuroscience Lab
The University of Western Ontario
Deanne is a NextGen Scholar and a member of the Knowledge Mobilization Committee for Ensuring Full Literacy. Their research focusses on the neuroscience of reading development, with an interest in understanding the cognitive underpinnings of reading (dis)abilities. Deanne uses behavioural and neuroimaging techniques in their research to accomplish these goals. They are also an OCT certified teacher and reading remediation interventionist. Having experience teaching children with mild to severe reading difficulties, Deanne hopes to bridge the gap between reading research and teaching practice.
