Leah Brainin

PhD Candidate, The Language, Reading, and Cognitive Neuroscience Lab

University of Western Ontario

Leah is a member of the Knowledge Mobilization Committee as part of the Ensuring Full Literacy team. Her research focuses on the neural bases of language learning. She uses both behavioural and neuroimaging techniques to understand how children learn languages differently than adults as a product of brain maturation. Leah is also interested in the development of reading and language disorders across the lifespan. She ultimately hopes to bridge the gaps between research, practice, and education curriculums across our culturally and linguistically diverse society.
