Sarah Dunphy

3rd Year, BSc in Psychology

Dalhousie University

Sarah is entering her fourth and final year of the BSc in Psychology program at Dalhousie University. She will be completing her Honours under the supervision of Dr. Hélène Deacon at the Language and Literacy Lab. Under the supervision of Dr. Deacon and Dr. Klaudia Krenca, and supported by the Ensuring Full Literacy Project, she previously completed a research project regarding digital literacy and COVID-19 mandated homeschooling. More specifically, this research compared the reading strategies used by parents with children partaking in mandatory homeschooling, in-person schooling, and voluntary homeschooling during the pandemic. She is passionate about using literacy research to help parents and students better face the many challenges of post-pandemic learning.
